Conventions for a magazine

Left Third - The left 3rd. if you devide the magazine into 3 sections. The first one is always the one which is shown when magazine are been displayed. So therefore this one will be the one everyone sees first so needs to be the main of the magazine cover.

Cover Lines:magazine front cover design

Mast head: Is the heading/title to the magazine, which is always on the TOP LEFT.
Splash: is the whole front cover, the image.
Sky line: The banner above the mast head! (text)
Screamer: Shouts a sentence (important) at you
Anchoriage: Caption for a picture

The Brief

Preliminary exercise: using DTP (dest top publisher) and an image manipulation program, produce the front page of a new school/college magazine, featuring a photograph of  student in a meduim close-up (waist and above) plus some appropriatley laid-out text and a masthead. Additionally you must produce a mock-up of the layout of the contents to demonstrate their grasp of DTP.

Main task: the front page, contents and double page spread of a new magazine. All images and text used must be original, produced by you - minumum of four images.

Production of your work
The presentation of the research, planning and evaluation may take the form of any one, or combination of the two or more, of the following:
- powerpoint
- blog
- podcast
